History

We write hotel history!
The Ringhotel Loew's Merkur is Nuremberg hotel history. In 1930, it was founded by our grandfather Leonhard Loew and his wife Anna on the spot as a small B&B Haus Loew.
After the early death of our grandfather, grandmother Anna not only had to continue the business, which in the meantime had expanded into a hotel, but also had to raise three children on her own.

Our father, Friedrich W. Loew, the oldest of the three siblings, managed the house together with our grandmother until her death in 1982. Hardly a year went by without the hotel being expanded, modernized and adapted to the expectations of modern travelers and conference guests. Today, we are a medium-sized, privately run hotel with 14 event and seminar rooms, a restaurant with modern cuisine, the hotel's own bar, a pool and fitness area and, in addition, almost 190 rooms spread over three buildings in the perimeter block development typical of the south city in Nuremberg: The pension Haus Loew has become the 4**** Ringhotel Loew's Merkur. Together with 50 dedicated employees, I am allowed to continue this chapter for our family and now in the third generation. In 2020, we celebrated our 90th hotel birthday.

In times of a fast-moving chain hotel industry, this really is something to be proud of.
